Reflection

This module has provided me with a much deeper understanding of the whole research process, from identifying a research problem through to communicating the research in various academic formats. My research skills as well as my critical thinking, analyzing and communicating skills have been enhanced throughout the entire semester. I learned that research is more than just gathering information. It involves careful planning, logical analysis and evidence of supporting every conclusion.

These assignments also gave me a boost in academic writing. Learned to structure information and to present complex information in a way that is easier to grasp for readers. Meanwhile, I realized that I needed to learn how to communicate research in a meaningful, yet succinct way, particularly when communicating the same research for different purposes and audiences.

So, I feel this module is helping me enhance my research and communication skills. I also have come to understand the importance of user research in the UI/UX design process, which involves understanding the user's needs and behaviours to ensure that the design is meaningful and effective. The theory and practice of this module will prove useful for future studies, but not only that, as user-centred thinking and research is an important part of my career as a designer.
